HM05 (Flash) can be obtained from Professor Oak's Aide after going through Diglett's Tunnel in Vermilion and going down to the bush that needs to be Cut (To get Cut, go onto SS Anne in Vermillion and talk to the captain after defeating your rival). After cutting the bush, go in the building and talk to the Aide. In order to get Flash you'll have to have caught at least 10 kinds of Pokemon.
