∙ 12y agoWell, I belive that there is no Disney channel in Canada. But if you are in Calgary AB then for sure there is a channel named Family and it is Channel 39 it does play Disney shows there are no commercials but the do play the shows and they end at least 10 minutes before the next show starts to make up for all of the lost commercials.
Answer#2: actually there is Disney channel in Canada but i don't know if it is for all of Canada.But i live in Ontario and there is the Disney Channel which is called Family and it is on channel 48.

∙ 13y agoDisney Channel is not broadcast in Canada. This is because if Disney Channel were to invest in a Canadian channel (which would likely be called 'Disney Channel Canada') then it would overpower Family Channel, as new episodes and films would premiere on Disney Channel Canada at the same time they do in the United States. This would put Family Channel & Disney Channel Canada in a competition, with Disney Channel Canada winning, as Disney Channel is a more well-known, house hold name, putting Family Channel's employees out of business, which would also result in several employees of Family Channel's parent company, Astral Media being layed off, as well.
Nearly 50 countries, worldwide receive Disney Channel. Those countries consist of the following: South Africa, Korea, Indonesia, Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Middle East, Netherlands, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, France, Russia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Scandinavia, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, Ireland, Latin America, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Haiti, the Carribean, and Dominican Republic.
In June 2011, Disney XD will launch in Canada. In May 2011, Disney Junior will launch in Canada. It is unknown if Disney Channel will ever air in Canada.
