Recently, there has been production of the "darkest" substance ever made. It consists of nanotubules built from carbon60 molecules, or buckminster fullerenes. This indicates these trap photons in the tunnels of these tubules. So a tighter knit, thicker, and higher thread count, black fabric would be the most absorbent.
