The best choice for your room is your favourite colour. If you like a very dark colour, you may want to check with your parents before painting the entire room that colour. If they are not in favour of the whole room in an intense colour perhaps you could either paint just one wall (your feature wall) in the dark colour and the other three in a more pastel version of it, or paint the room in the pastel tone of your colour and get linens and window treatments in the dark colour.
Get a more grown up colour scheme for your bed and get some chic or modern accessories (pictures etc). It doesn't really matter what colour your walls are, it's more the stuff in the room that counts.
