Each element has similar properties to the other elements in its group on the Periodic Table. Sodium is an alkali metal, and those are the elements in Group 1 of the periodic table of elements. We know that lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium and francium all have similar chemical properties.

Elements similar to sodium include lithium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium. These are the Group 1 elements, the Alkali metals, and they can be found by looking at the period table in the first vertical column.

Fun fact: all of these have one valence electron, so they react violently with water!

The element most similar to any other element, other than a lanthanide or an actinide, is one of its neighbors in the same column of the periodic table. For sodium there are two neighbors, lithium and potassium. Second period elements, such as lithium, are usually less like their heavier neighbors in a periodic table column than the heavier neighbors are like each other, because of the greater relative difference in atomic radii. Therefore, potassium is most like Na.

The alkali metals show similar qualities to sodium as it is too. Namely, alkali metals are lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium and (francium).

What 3 elements from the periodic table have the same properties as sodium?

No other element has the exact same properties as sodium, but the three with the most similar properties would most likely be lithium, potassium, and rubidium.

Which two elements will react to form a salt with properties most similar to sodium chloride?

potassium and chlorine

Are properties of sodium chlorine similar to sodium or chlorine?

It's sodium chloride if you're talking about the compound NaCl. And no, the property of the compound will not be the same as the property of either of the elements.

What other elements would have similar properties to sodium?

The properties of sodium are a result of its configuration of valence shell electrons, so for similar properties, you would look for elements with a similar configuration. Since sodium has one electron in its valence shell (which is one more electron than the previous noble gas, neon), you would look for other elements that also have one more electron than the previous noble gas. The elements in the far left column of the periodic table fit this description. This column includes the elements potassium and lithium.

What are to two element that have properties similar to those of the element sodium?

Lithium and potassium has same properties as sodium. They are alkali metals. They are placed in group-1.The elements of the same group have same chemical properties. Li and K are the elements above and below Na in the period. So they have same properties as sodium.

Which metal is similar in properties to sodium on the periodic table?

potassium is very close in properties with sodium after it calcium is closer to sodium in properties.

What elements on the poeriodic table tend to have similar physical and chemical properties?

Both elements, sodium (Na) and potassium (K) lie in the Group 1 column of the Periodic Table , which contains the members of the Alkali Metals family. Members within a family, or column, of elements tend to have similar chemical properties.

Why do th elements potassium and sodium have similar chemical and physical properties?

Because they are adjacent members of the same periodic table column.

Do the elements potassium and sodium have similar chemical properties?

Yes, in general they do. Potassium is a bit more reactive than sodium, but qualitatively they're quite similar. This is because they both have one outer s electron.

How can you tell using the periodic table that sodium and potassium are similar?

You can tell by the location, and the fact that they are both in the same column. Elements in the same column (or group) have similar properties.

Which contains elements with simliar properties in the periodic table?

A group contains elements having similar properties because of the same number of valence electrons present in the atoms of those elements. So, of example if you take group one containing Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, etc, they all have similar properties because of having the same valency (+1) .

What properties have the same thing as lithium?

Sodium has similar properties as lithium.
