It depends on the context. 'I was you' could be correct:

If you are writing a conditional sentence then "I were you" is correct. This is only for 'impossible conditions' where 'were' is used for all subjects eg

If I were you I would save the money.

If I were king I would raise the taxes.

If he were president I would be the first lady.

Use 'was' when referring to a past event. Use 'were' to express a hypothetical condition. For example, you could say, "If I were you, I wouldn't stand so close to the drunk clown juggling flaming batons." The only time you can correctly use "...
