Memory is more important than the type of processor. Unless you are about to run programs like photoshop or premier pro or in Apple's case, Final Cut Pro, then you probably want the Core i5. A memory upgrade is easy and it is cheap. Do it yourself instead of letting the factory install it for you. It will save you a good amount of money. But for most people, Core i3 with 6 GB of memory is better.

Should you buy a laptop with an Intel i5 Processer and 4GB Ram or i3 and 8GB Ram?

The i5. Upgrading a processor is expensive, but memory is relatively cheap. 4Gb is usually enough for your average computing needs, and you can always put more in later. Plus, the i5 has more cache memory and is all around more efficient.

How much memory can a computer use?

It all depends on the architecture that the processor is built on. If it is 32 bit architecture, 2^32 it will be 4gb. If it is a 64bit processor it can access 2^64 memory locations, or 16gb.

Why is physical address space is larger than physical memory?

Address space refers to how much memory you could potentially talk to so for instance a 32bit processor has a 32 bit addres space i.e. 2^32 = 2 x 2 x 2 ..... 32 times which equals 4294967296 - this is 4Gigabytes. The physical memory is how much memory you have installed so this could be anything up to 4GB. Any memory above 4GB would no be able to be used by the processor.

Is a 4GB memory good?

It depends on context. 4GB is actually all the memory that Windows XP can handle (there's a special 64-bit edition that can use more than 4GB). However, it's not a huge amount of memory for a video camera (it's not horrible, though; it represents maybe an hour of standard definition video).
