Lexmark X6570 <---- Does not work! Update: I bought the X6750 ink cartridge and tried to use it in my Dell 948. The cartridges do look identical, but the X6570 (No. 42 or 44) does NOT work in the Dell 948. Don't waste your money. I suspect Dell has rigged the cartridge in some way so that you must buy their ink exclusively for them to make a profit off the ink. This is very common. They sell the printer for $30 bucks and then charge $30 a pop for the ink which is extremely cheap for them to produce. Pure profit. It's a bait and switch game.

∙ 8y agoThe Lexmark compatible driver to the Dell A926 is the Lexmark EF4500. You have to download the driver and then go to Dells support web site and download the Dell A926 driver and then in Bios you have to add 1ww4$dhh%..ghdrive,67559 to line 234 and then reboot and add the dell a926 print in your MAC locate add printer option and then you will be able to use the Dell a926 on your MAC with full functionality.

I bought said printer cartridge for my 968 . The cartridge is precisely the same in looks dimensions .. pattern on the circuit board .. even has the same id number on the flexi circuit board .. but the Dell software somehow identifies it as an unsupportable cartridge. Dell have obviously done something. Dell genuine only it looks like.

Some people have had success with the Lexmark X9350 drivers for Mac OS X (See links below) with a Dell 966. The Dell printer needs to be set up to work wirelessly from the panel on the printer. But the whole thing seems to be a bit hit and miss with no guarantee of success.
Is dell a940 ink compatible with lexmark x75 printer?
No. The cartridges for the Dell printer are much larger than the Lexmark printer. The Lexmark equivalent for those Dell cartridges would be the Lexmark 82 and 83 but I am unsure if the electronics for those two are compatible. The Lexmark x75 cartridges are fully compatible with the Dell equivalent, the T0529 and T0530. The only differences in these are which lid gets slapped onto the cartridges. The shape on top will be slightly different making it so that they won't fit in correctly but this can easily be gotten around by simply snapping off the small plastic tab in the printer. Be very certain that you are breaking the correct piece off if you attempt to change the printer as you can break the cartridge holder if you snap off the wrong piece. If you look at the cartridge you will see a raised part on the lid with either a corner missing or a section in the center that is flat, this is where the piece that would prevent a Lexmark cart fitting into a Dell printer would be located. This small plastic piece can be removed with no effect on how the cartridge fits in the printer for printing.

Have a Dell 966 printer Is there a Lexmark cartridge that will work?
The answer seems to be "no" - I bought the Lexmark version of this cartridge, and it doesn't work - the chip on it causes the printer to read "invalid cartridge". Some older versions used an additional slot to differentiate between Dell and Lexmark, but they've now gone down the hardware route and there doesn't seem to be a way around it. That means you have to order from Dell, and I need to print today. $50 from Office Depot down the drain and no other option. I'm selling this POS printer and buying one from a company that doesn't so blatantly screw its customers.
