I'd honestly recommend a buisness background. This may seem strange, but coming from someone with over 2 decades of musical background and a masters in music, music as a university course is a dead end. True ingenuity does not come from a classroom. Art by nature is subjective and therefore the true essence of music can never be touched upon by traditional classes. If you have talent, then you have talent. The trick isn't getting the credentials to justify it. You'll see plenty of successful artists with nothing but a high school diploma. The trick is marketing yourself well, getting connections and at least having a fall back plan if all goes to hell.
There are various technical aspects involved in producing premium-quality audio content. For making a clear, perfect pitch and pleasing audio content, two major factors are mixing and mastering. The first step of creating a song is mixing, where experts work on balancing, treating, and combining multiple tracks of music. In this process, experts also add various individual sounds together to make a melody. On the other hand, mastering is the final process of audio production, where experts give the final touch to content before going out for distribution. The mastering process involves various works, such as making the track louder and making the track sound better. People require skills like attention to detail and years of experience for this work.
