Best Answer
The optimal months for growing tomatoes is dependent on where you live and the tomato cultivar!Tomato seeds should be started 5 to 8 weeks before the last frost in your area and the soil should be at least 65 degrees F but less than 85 degrees F for germination.

Tomato plants will grow when the soil temp is above 50 degrees F or less than approximately 90 degrees F.

Tomato plants grow "best" when soil temp is between 70 to 80 degrees F. This is a generality at best. Some tomato cultivars are more adept to cooler climates, such as some Russian varieties, while others are more adept to warmer climates, such as the "sunmaster" cultivar. But, in general, plants will grow "best" when soil temps are between 70 to 80 degrees F in your area--Which will vary drastically based on where you live!

That depends on where you live. But they can be planted in early spring if your climate is warm or late spring/early summer if you climate is colder.

Where I live (Southern Hemisphere) I plant tomatoes in early September (spring).

Tomatoes are best grown in places which are hot or where the exposure to the sun is maximum. This is one of the reasons when you plant the tomatoes in the west side of your home or south side area, they are best grown with heathy manner.

Added to this, there aare also certain locations where you can grow tomatoes such as the Lanai, patio or deck. Try also planting them using a plastic or some type of protective covering for the soil. It is also a good idea to plant tmatoes in vehicle tires since the black rubber helps in absorb heat as much possible during day and will radiate in the night.

Hope this helps.
