Usually when a director or casting director is auditioning someone, they are looking for what you do with and how well you present your monologue. It makes no difference where it comes from.
Whether you are auditioning for professional or amateur theater, keep it short. Under a minute, about 30 seconds is usually best. This is your product. Make it believable and sell it!

∙ 12y agoThere are a number of good monologues that you can perform for an acting audition. One of my favorites is the monologue in Braveheart when the king is dying and the princess begs for William Wallace's life.
