Talking about Hardware, PlayStation 3 definitely wins with the Blu Ray ability and the graphics are much better. I'd say the PS3 software is good, the online interaction is good too, but I also own an Xbox which I probably play more than the PS3.

With free online capabilities, a larger marketplace to buy classic PS1 & PS2 games, the PlayStation Home software and Blu Ray technology, among other things, make the PS3 an overall "better" console. Obviously that's my opinion, but people generally prefer Xbox 360s because they're cheaper and have a wider catalog of games.

I'd say one is not better than the other, it's a personal preference. There are far too many fanboys of each system on the internet which will tell you otherwise, but they're incredibly close-minded. I've grown to love both of my consoles, but maybe people who've had an Xbox right from the start are more loyal to Microsoft, and the same for PlayStation owners with Sony. I guess I'm fortunate enough to have both, but I can't really say which is better, it's all a matter of the individual's enjoyment of each console and their games and software.

I recommend the PS3 because you dot have to pay for online.

personally i think both the playstation 3 and the xbox 360 are very good. but with the ps3 you don't have to pay for online playing. but then the xbox 360 games are very cheap. im neutral but i do have a ps3

PlayStation 3 has many of the best games that haven't been made for other systems including the Xbox 360.

Xbox is usually better for online play and games (Forza motor sports 3) but costs money to play online.

PS3 is better for graphics, has bluray player, and free online play. The Xbox is a great gamesystem, but not as good as the PlayStation 3. As the commercial says, it has everything.

ya right if you wanna pay to play online, ps3 has free online and way better controller for online and regular play, and 360 has udates weekly that are pointless and during that time you cant even play, plus ps3 sends free updates on your favorite games for map packs and other videos and facts

Well PS3 has many good games like Uncharted and Ratchet and clank but the Xbox has gears of war and halo. The Xbox has better graphics and gameplay. The only problem about Xbox is that you have to pay for Xbox live. How ever I think Xbox is better because it is cheaper and really just better. If you want to play on PS home or Uncharted then PS3 is better.:)

While I like the PS3 better because the console does more than just play games neither system will play against the other or play the other's exclusive games. If your friend's all have an Xbox 360 you must purchase the Xbox 360 to be able to play with them. The same is true if you want to be able to play certain exclusive games. Both consoles have enough games although the PS3 has more Move capable games available than there are Kinect games titles. The 4 GB Xbox 360 model is not as good as the PS3 or other Xbox 360 models and was designed to compete with the Nintendo Wii lower price. PS3 models have a current 320 GB PS3 Uncharted 3 bundle priced at $299.99 and a 320 GB Move Bundle at $350 which makes them available for as cheap or cheaper than similar Xbox 360 models. Playstation Plus is better than the same priced Xbox Live membership and you only need the PSN free system to play and use the internet. Neither system is better without the internet than one connected to the internet as they were designed to be. Both systems have excellent capabilities and it is normally your HDTV that could be upgraded to show a better picture than between the 2 systems or the 3D capabilities. Older Models of ether system are not considered better because they are less reliable and experience breakdowns due th there running hotter from earlier designs with higher power consumption. I consider the Sony Corporation as having a better lifetime reputation producing electronics than Microsoft
