1. James Doohan (Montgomery Scott) died in his sleep at his home in Redmond, Washington, at 5:30 a.m. local time with his wife Wende at his side. Cause of death was pneumonia, complicated by Alzheimer's disease, according to Doohan's agent and longtime friend Steve Stevens of Los Angeles. Jackson DeForest Kelley (20 January 1920 - 11 June 1999; age 79) was famous for his role as Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, MD, on Star Trek: The Original Series. Kelley retired from acting in the mid 1990s, and succumbed to stomach cancer on June 11, 1999, the first of the original Trek cast to pass on. He was survived by Carolyn Dowling, his wife of nearly 54 years, who passed away in October 2004 Majel Barrett Roddenberry (Nurse Chapel and the voice of the USS Enterprise's Computer) on the original Star Trek series passed away in her Bel-Air California home at the age of 76 (December 18, 2008) with the reported cause of death being leukemia.
