There are low-calorie and low-fat dressings for most any flavor. "Creamy" dressings are always super-high in calories, so avoid those (ranch, blue cheese, russian, ect.). Cesear dressing is also made with raw eggs, so it is very fatty. Oil and vinegar is the best. Go light on the oil, and use vinegar to flavor. Also, many companies have salad "spritzers" where you spray dressing one "spritz" at a time. Usually, each spray is only a calorie or 2.
i dont know witch store bought salad dressing is best but, you can make your own. this is my favorite recipe:
1 tbs mustard = 0 cal
1/8 tsp paprika = 2.5 cal
a dash salt = 0 cal
a dash of pepper = 0 cal
1/3 tbs Splenda = 0 cal
stir together for the dressing
fry together:
1/4 carrot = 7.5 cal
1 1/2 mushrooms = 6 cal
mix together all the stuff in 1 1/2 cups romain lettuce = 15 cal
done with only 31 calories!
