The Sacramento (447 miles long) and the San Joaquin Rivers (330 miles long) are the first and second longest rivers running entirely within California. The California Aqueduct (443 miles long) is a man-made canal that, if it were considered a river, would be the second longest river running entirely within California and make the San Joaquin the third longest river running entirely within California. Whoever wrote that the Columbia and the Colorado Rivers were the answer to this question was mistaken.
