Yes. Contributor trust is the number of recommendations that a contributor has received.
Not as far as I'm aware. I've merged questions many times, and not received a confirmation email.
WikiAnswers Trust Points are received when someone clicks on "recommend" on your profile, not by the amount of contributions. You'll find quality answers that are really helpful will earn those points. You also get confidence votes when someone says that an answer you contributed to was helpful (on the question page).
Chatting on Message BoardsIn the past, idle chatter on the WikiAnswers' user message boards was frowned upon, and in extreme cases, received a block from using WikiAnswers' services at all - particularly if the user(s) involved made no real contribution to the WikiAnswers Q&A or community. Now, chatting is allowable on user message boards, except for extremes - which may receive the attention of a Supervisor with a warning message. WikiAnswers was not intended to be used as an IM (instant messaging) service all day long, so that would be an extreme. However, we would still like to have you participate and contribute quality answers or contributions to the site! Community is a part of WikiAnswers.
It is not a matter of copyright; rather, it is one having to do with trademarks. Answers Corp. received a registered trademark for the word "WikiAnswers" in July 2009.
Trust points do not entirely help you get hired to work for WikiAnswers, since actually getting paid to work for WikiAnswers is different from the amount of trust points you received online.
It depends. Firstly, check if the contributor is a Supervisor or not. If they are not, then it isn't an official warning. From there, it really depends on the Supervisor. If you have been officially warned, you will see the number of warnings you have received on your profile page. At the bottom of the Stats box, in the green section at the bottom, you will see the word "Warn." If you have been officially warned, the number of warnings you have received will be written in parentheses after the word "Warn."
The linnean medal was received for his contributions to the botany. He was British person and was only know for this particular contribution. He was not world re-known.
Answer 1:Yes.Answer 2:No. I would hope that any contributer would trust their own contributions! If not, why should anyone else?Besides, these trust points aren't actually "ranks", they just mean that someone liked one of your answers. It's not the infallible measure of integrity some might think. Also, have you seen how many hundreds and thousands of trust points those who've been around have? No one awarding themselves a single point is going to make any difference to their ultimate numbers. Only consistently good contributions can do that.(Full disclosure: Of the 51 trust points I've received in the past month, one of them was from myself. Therefore, you should only trust me fifty points worth, not fifty one!)
types of recyclkeble pachThis contributor has received packages which were padded with excelsior, foam peanuts, shredded paper, crumpled newspaper, and bubble wrap.
WikiAnswers cannot read your mind to determine whether or not you can remember something.
Promotion on WikiAnswers from registered user to Supervisor occurs in one of two ways:1. By chance. Perhaps one of our existing supervisors may run into an answer you provided within a question and found it to be very good. This will make the supervisor view your bio page and review other contributions you have made. They will look for things like quality of answers, correctness of answers, if you've been helping other users through the message boards, organizational skills such as recategorizing questions, splitting off bad redirects, or editing the format of questions into better ones as well as editing spelling or grammar issues within existing answers, and how long you have been a registered member of WikiAnswers. We are always on the watch for new Supervisors as WikiAnswers grows. Provided that your contributions collectively have been good and helpful to the site, the Supervisor will recommend you for Supervisor status to an Administrator.2. By attention. You can always email WikiAnswers or leave a message on a Supervisor's message board questioning about obtaining Supervisor status at any time. Once your message has been received, the receiver will review your contributions, make suggestions if needed, and then recommend you to an Administrator as a new supervisor.View the related links below for a list of our current supervisors.
