Aquaman's powers were a bit of a joke, however, if one is not expecting him to save the day, then they did have some cool applications.

Obviously being able to breathe underwater and communicate telepathically with sea life would have some utility in the field of ocean exploration, or even simple recreation. One could imagine a whole sub-race of humans living underwater in beautiful cities, where they have fish ranches like we have cattle ranches.

On the other hand, Zan, usually regarded as "the" lamest super hero, had a power that was even more fantastically bizarre than Aquaman's. The ability to turn into any form of water, while retaining sentience, is so far outside the bounds of acceptable science as to make Aquaman's talents seem perfectly feasible.

(Neverminding how Zan was able to retain an outline of his face each time!)

If we try and make a determination of which one had powers that would do more good in the super hero world, probably Zan's would. You would basically then be a James Bond style spy, who had the handy talent of being able to pour yourself through a key hole, or turn into steam and slip through an air duct.

By this standard, making an octopus do your bidding would be very lame, as there are few real life scenarios where we actually need that to happen! Therefore, in what will not surprise any fan, Aquaman was the lamest.

Well, unless we are counting Marvin and the Wonder Dog!
