The three spiritual virtues are also commonly known as the theological virtues. These being Hope, Faith and Charity. This concept originates from Thomas Aquinas's most famous work, the Summa theologica which was written between 1265 and 1274c.e. This work was intended as a theological manual for beginners and it summarizes the reasonings for almost all points of Christian theology. The writings are not considered Bible canon. The writings are actually catholic dogma that was typical of that time period. This poses the Christian Bible researcher with the question of does this writing actually teach scriptural truths. By now it well known that early catholic 3rd and 4th century teachings are heavily corrupted with pagan teachings that exist to this very day. The flood of paganism that was absobed into the early catholic church by Pope Constantine was never purged out. Centuries later as writings like Summa theologica show up, they still retain their unscriptural pagan influences. Fortunately, genuine scriptural thruths do still exist today. A dedicated group of people took the time to root out the false pagan teachings and carefully collected the genuine truths that are taught in the original holy scriptures.
