The Soc (social climbers, socialites) are the west side rich kids. For fun they like to jump Greasers and throw beer blasts. They are rich and stuck up. They come from a predominately white collar lifestyle, characterized by their often "preppy" dress style. Khaki pants, madras (collared and checkered shirt) etc.

The Greasers are the east side, middle- and lower-class poor kids. They wore leather jackets and jeans. They slicked their hair back to make it greasy and darker (hence the name). They smoked kools and usually tried to stay out of fights. Most greasers have little or no respect for authority. When seen they were called "Dirty Troublemakers."

Greasers are poor, from the East Side. They put grease in their hair for trademark's sake and the have a rough background. They feel violently, meaning they have a lot of emotions. They fight a lot.

Socs are Rich, from the West Side. They have madras shirts and Mustangs and a Rich background, but things are rough all over. They are cool to the point of not feeling anything and if they do feel something, they are weird to other Socs. They like to Jump (beat up) Greasers. They fight a lot.

The Socs and Greaser were different because the Socs were very rich and had everything, and the Greasers were very poor and couldn't afford having expensive items.
