I would take your friend's claims with a grain of salt. There is no unit called "Black Ops". Black ops tends to refer to units or personnel tasked with covert, clandestine operations. Black ops does not cover all special operations missions - in fact, black ops are more commonly carried out by intelligence agencies than military forces.
Your friend is probably thinking of something like Delta Force, Navy Seals, or maybe even the CIA's Special Activities Division. However, I would be more willing to bet that your friend's story is mere fabrication.
