There are quite a few. I'm sure these singers could go high if they wanted, but they sound better with a deeper voice.

4 basic voice types or ranges - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass -Interestingly, the classical singing world does not recognise the 'Alto' voice as a voice type, and uses the term 'Contralto' to describe voices that would fall in the Choral 'Alto' range. This is because in Choir Singing, singers are usually classified by their vocal range, and so it is more convenient to group singers based on their ranges, ie Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass, rather on the various characteristics of their voice, as it would be in the classical world. Here are the various approximate vocal ranges for each of the Choral Voice Types (C4 being Middle C):Soprano - C4 to C6Alto - G3 to F5Tenor - D3 to A4Bass - E2 to E4

If you're referring to the alto range, then the really high male opera singers are called counter tenors. They are pretty rare voice types and there are not many operas with counter tenor roles. There are a few in baroque operas and then in some 20th century works of Benjamin Britten.
Jolina Magdangal, Toni Gonzaga, and Kim Chiu are famous Filipino alto singers.

The lowest female voice in a choir is called a contralto or, more commonly, an alto. This voice is also referred to as a "second alto."

Alto is typically sang by females, but boychoirs have alto singers, so I guess the answer would be yes.
