Who are the major contributors of management thoughts after 1980? |
Answer
Offhand, I'd suggest Tom Peters ("In Search of Excellence") and Ken Blanchard ("The One Minute Manager") as far as popular autors are concerned. I worked for CareerTrack in Boulder, CO ( personal and management training company--seminars, tapes, etc--later bought out by Fred Prior Seminars), in the mid 1980s and these were 2 of the names that came up a lot.

I would add Warren Buffet to the list. His investment style includes consideration of a company's management philosophy. Many investors emulate or outright copy Warren Buffet's decissions. Hence, corporations seeking maximizing shareholder value likely follow business plans that would please investors such as Warren Buffet.
I'd also like to add Jim Collins (Built to Last, Good to Great)
