The puritans were very strict about religion and their lifestyle. if you had different beliefs about religion than them, you were not a puritan anymore. however, the Quakers lived a little more freely. they took other peoples beliefs into consideration. but the puritans did not tolerate the Quaker's. they treated them cruelly. the said that every Quaker was a witch and not a real person. the two groups were very different.
