It might be possible, if you can prove your great grandad (or a more recent ancestor) was a Lithuanian citizen before 1940. If you don't have any dox, contact the Lithuanian honorary consul in Cape Town. Maybe he can help you search the state archives for copies. The accredited embassy for SA is in Israel...! But, the rule on the website includes the line "provided that the persons... did not repatriate". This isn't clear in English, but it might exclude anyone with the valid citizenship of another state. You need to clarify it with the consulate before taking any other action. Lithuania has a problem with dual citizenship, so you might have to give up your SA (and any other) passports. Not a big problem if you're moving to Europe, but you'd need to apply for a tourist visa if you ever go home to visit. If you seriously plan on doing this, I'd suggest you start learning the language now. Lithuanian is one of the hardest languages in Europe, and it's an "isolate" so there are no similar languages to it that you might have heard before.
