Several companies worked on developing microprocessors simultaneously. Ray Holt is believed to have developed the first working microprocessor, the MP944, and released in 1970. This chip was used in the F-14 Tomcat used by the US Navy. It was never made available publicly, however. The Intel 4004 was the first commercially available microprocessor, and was developed by a team led by Marcian "Ted" Hoff.
It wasn't discovered; it was invented. Credit is given to Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce, who created the first integrated circuit in 1958 while working at Texas Intruments.
The micro chip wasn't discovered. It was made. The first working chip was made by a man named jack kilby
It is difficult to identify an inventor for the microprocessor chip.
Integrated circuits had been in use for some time and processors had also been in use for several years. In the late 1960s, integrated circuits were becoming larger and so more processor elements were being made in fewer chips.
It was Ted Hoff of Intel who proposed that simple processors could be made on a single chip but it was the work of other people in Intel who produced the 4004, a project lead by Federico Faggin. This was the first commercially available single chip micro-processor.
At the same time Texas Instruments were working on a similar IC. It is not clear which of the two operated first.
From that time, ICs have become larger and more complex and the first microprocessor ICs were just one milestone among many along the road to very large scale integration of ICs.
Microprocessor is a single chip processor.

The question is unclear, but it looks like it meant to ask when the first microprocessor was invented. That was the Intel 4004, invented in 1971. It was the first single chip microprocessor, and the first microprocessor available commercially. The 4004 was a 4 bit processor, with a 12 bit address bus and an 8 bit opcode. Everything was multiplexed, 4 bits at a time, in 8 clock cycles per instruction.
b/c the 8085 microprocessor is the first 8 bit microprocessor which Intel is produces in 1877 and this is the first general purpose 8 bit microprocessor. there was an 8 bit general purpose register before 8085 named as 8008 but this microprocessor is not functional 8 bit microprocessor
The first microprocessor is invented by Intel that is 4004(its name.) in around 1970...
Intel has changed the global marketplaces dramatically since it was founded in 1968 the company invented the microprocessor, the "computer on a chip" made possible the first handheld calculators and personal computers. by the early 21st century, Intel's microprocessor were found in approximately 80 percent of PCs worldwide.
The 4004 was Intel's first microprocessor and the world's first single chip microprocessor. For the first PC as we know it (the 1981 IBM PC), it was the 8088, following with 80286, 80386, 80486 and then the Pentium line.

Ted hughes was the first person who designed microprocessors. In 1971 Ted hughes make first microprocessor for intel. The name of the first microprocessor was: Intel-4004. It contains lacs of electronic circuits.
