Lincoln went through 2 presidential elections.

The first, in 1860, he beat Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, John C. Breckinridge of the Southern Democrats, and John Bell of the Constitutional Union Party.

In 1864, Lincon won re-election for his second term, beating Democratic candidate George B. McClellan. A group of Republican dissidents nominated John C. Frémont who later withdrew and endorsed Lincoln.
