Who discovered the first case of Celiac Disease?

Answer:

The Roman Physician, Galen, sometimes known as Aretaeus of Cappadocia, in the latter half of the second century AD.

The text was translated into English in 1856 by Francis Adams, and the Celiac portion excerpted and published separately along with original descriptions by Samuel Gee in 1888.

The specific grains involved were not identified until 1950, by a Dutch professor named Dicke.
