Well in actuality History might not actually say or put there finger on who were the 1st smoker but the first people to be on the Earth were probably Africans or the Indians. It could have been BOTH Africans and Indians. That's probably how we Africans got here, so I'd most likely say that Africans AND Indians

Tobacco smoking has been happening all over the world for thousands of years though. In the Americas there are carvings in stone of tobacco use by the Mayan Indians of Mexico, these date to around 600-900 AD. Possibly the first.
