When were girls allowed to join the Air Training Corps?

The U.S. Air Force itself was formed in 1947, making it the youngest U.S. military branch. Women were allowed to join one year later, in 1948, with the creation of the program, Women in the Air Force (WAF). Before this, women had already been serving in the Army, under the Women's Army Corps (WAC), which was formed in 1942. During the Air Force's first year, before the creation of WAF, some women from WAC performed Air Force duties while still serving in the Army. What year was the first air craft used by the air force?

The official day the United States Air Corps separated from the Army would be the year, 1947. The Air Corps had been flying with the army since flight was available to the U.S. Army and when they officially separated from the Army on September 18, 1947 the Air Corps would become the Air Force. I'd bet a million dollars the Air Force flew a plane on that day.

What football conference is air force in?

Air Force is a member of the Mountain West Conference. Unlike the other military force teams who are FBS independants (Navy,Army) Air Force decided to join a conference and have a semi-locked schedule year in and year out. The military uses their teams to market themselves to prospective recruits and so it helps Navy and Army move around the country from year to year rather than stay in the same region all year. On another note Coast Guard another military force team has division three program which they have joined the NEFC and have a set schedule.
