I just bought and used a line of Aussie Shampoo that contains Jojoba extract and had a major allergic reaction. I can not say with 100% certainty this ingredient caused the reaction but the shampoo is the only new addition to my normal routine and I have never had an allergic reaction before. I was just at Canyon Ranch Spa in Las Vegas.. I received a massage and minutes afterwards I had a violent reaction.. My head swelled up, my eyes and ears closed, my nose become stuffed and runny.. I had a swelling and a rash over my entire body.. We were very fearful that my throat would close.. I immdediately took a Benadrul however, it did not help.. I was rushed to the emergency room where I received steriods and other meds through an IV.. About three hours later I was released from the hospital.. It took another day for my eye to go completely down.. The doctor gave me a prescription for 10 days worth of steriods.. However, I took them for one day.. My biggest concern was that since there was in an oil it would stick to my skin.. But I swam for the entire next day and felt confident there was no more oil on me.. The next day I called Canyun Ranch and they told me the contents of the oils used during my massage.. Since there oils are all natural and contain few ingrediants, I was able to say with confidence Jojaba is the only thing I have not ingested.. This is my first search for jojaba Allergies, will write back if I find anything else. ***Hello I have some information to add to the above persons comment:
I have a severe peanut allergy and I am able to use jojoba oil without a problem. (I even put in on my lips)
Jojoba oil comes from the seed of the plant and its not really an oil, its a wax.
One thing it does have similar to peanut is that it naturally contains Eicosanic acid; (Eicosanoic acid; Arachidinic acid; n-Eicosanoic Acid;) This acid is found in fish oil and other vegetable oils. If you using any type of product make sure that there is no cross-contamination
Most any other type of oil (corn, peanut, vegetable, canola, olive, ect.) will work out pretty good.
Not that I know of. I have never heard of peanut butter pizza. But I am sure you can make it. Instead of using pizza sauce you can use peanut butter.
Haven't heard of it. Some of the best natural hair growth oils have jojoba oil and coconut oil.
From what I have heard and researched, over 60% of processed foods include soy! Many people that are allergic to soy can be allergic to other legumes, such as peanuts. I don't know for sure if this can be vise-versa, but I would watch out if I were you. Soy beans are not legumes, but you should still check with your doctor.
You've never heard of the peanut butter trick? Give him some peanut butter, and he'll be too preoccupied with trying to chew and swallow it to bark.
i know it causes pimples on the face but i have never heard of a rash on your thigh unless you need to be checked for an allergy.
When baking the cookies and they are rolled into balls they are flattened out with a fork on the cookie tray - hence the fork mark.
I heard when having asthma that your lips can turn a blue color...and asthma and allergies go hand and hand
you may have an allergy to that food. Never heard of anything else causing it.
I know of many plants that are toxic to horses, but I've only heard of an allergy to the dust in hay, which causes heaves.
Yes, from the episode Peanut Butter Clutter, I heard that the guy "Cumber" is their older brother, he is so ugly..... Anyways, i heard his name is Gerald, what a cute name, huh? Some peope say that his name is Kelly but I have heard more Gerald. THay come from Europe, is what I heard.
I have NEVER heard of that stuff. Just use Jif. It is gluten free.
