Swearing goes back farther than written language so we can't tell exactly when it started. It's my guess that swear words were invented right along with language itself.
Philologically speaking, English words almost entirely come from an ancestral mother tongue called Indo-European, whose daughter languages had daughter languages spoken from Ireland to India, Persia and even China. The meanings and sounds agree in these languages such that we can say the original speakers probably came from somewhere between Eastern Europe and Western Asia. They knew snow and the apple tree, the cow and the pig; they did not know the palm or the giraffe.
English is a mix of two IE languages, the Germanic Anglo-Saxon and the Latin Norman French.Norman conquest caused French words for things to represent, generally, their finer aspect while the English words for the same things are used for their coarser form. Cattle and swine in the barn are beef and pork on the table, having become French in the refineries of the kitchen.
The IE roots grew into different words and different ideas in dozens of daughter languages. An odd example, perhaps, is the English word arrow, from the IE root arkw- that comes back into English, through the French, as arch, from the Latin for bow.
The Devil!
I have a theory that may help. I believe that a Wicken created the words, maybe from the devil. I do not believe in God or the Devil or any mythical being.
I think that a Wicken was talking or doing some type of "spell" to call in demons or something else, then a person from a Catholic or Christian faith over heard or may have seen the practice happening and may have caught a few words from the worshiper. Then they presented it to a powerful church or some other people and then made them "Bad Words". Because like every thick headed Christian only God can talk since into them. Or what they think is "God".

It is not known how curse words originated in society but it is thought they have been around since the beginning of language. Curse words didn't appear in written language until about 5,000 years ago.

I don't know what you mean by "ye-old," but curse words are not allowed on WikiAnswers website. It is against the TOU rules.
It means "a curse"
The gypsy curse made them laugh at first. The curse words flowed out of his mouth like water out of the faucet.
No it does not have curse words
Curse words are very very bad words.
Probably not. The games are made for kids, after all.

no there are no curse words except crap
There are no curse words in the Bible. There are a few words that MIGHT be considered curse words now, but were not considered curse words at the time the Bible was written. There are instances of the word ass (e.g. Exodus 20:17) but it is refering to the donkey on which Christ was riding.
there are lots of curse words. maybe even to many to count, but its whether or not you choose to use them. if your a well mannered person, you would probably like to not use of the many curse words. but if you grow up in the "hood" or "the ghetto" you could be raised or grew up around people who think there "pimps" with lots of "swagg/swagga/swagger", those many inappropriate words could be in your childhood vocabulary. so it doesn't matter how many curse words there are in the world, its whether or not you choose to use them. :)
Cuss words or curse words are considered to be bad words. Curse words vary from culture to culture and are also referred to as bad words. In most societies the use of curse words is frowned upon.
