I.G.FARBEN WAS THE PRIMARY MANUFACTURER BUT THERE WERE OTHERS LIKE THYSSIEN WHICH IS STILL IN BUSSINESS HERE AND IN Germany. The Nevada prison system invented the gas chamber in 1924. A man named Gee Jon, who was a member of a Chinese-American crime syndicate, was to be executed for murder at the Nevada State Prison. At the time, they were attempting to find a more humane way to execute criminals in Nevada, and someone came up with the idea of using cyanide gas. They first tried putting a hose in his cell at night and piping in the gas. Gee survived this because the gas escaped through the bars of his cell. (History does not state what happened to the other inmates.) Their next attempt was to put Gee in a closet and pipe the gas into it. This worked fine.
It was not the work or idea of a single person, not even in one place.
The T-4 programme under Bouhler and Brandt, used to murder the mentally ill was the first use of poison gas to kill people under the Nazis. Here they started by pumping exhaust fumes from an engine into rooms to suffocate thier victims. This method was adapted and employed in the 'Action Reinhard' camps by some of the directors of the T-4 programme, where they would seal vans and introduce the exhaust fumes into them, but the numbers that they could kill in this method were low at each time, though they did kill close to two million in this way.
Almost in parallel with this adaptation were the tests done at Auschwitz where they used a rat poison. They tested it on a seales cell in the punishment block on Soviet prisoners or war. From these sucessful tests under temporary commandant Fritzsch it would be a few more months until routine gassings would take place in the converted mortuary under commandant Hoess.
Nazi Germany constructed the gas chambers to eliminate the Jewish people of Europe. As many as 3 million Jews were murdered in this way.
The first gas chamber was constructed in 1924 by Gee Jon. It was used in the United States as a way to humanely execute convicted criminals in the legal system.
Believe it not, the Nevada prison system invented the gas chamber in 1924.

When you release a gas in a vacuum chamber, it immediately drops to the floor because of its density. _______________________________________________________ I expect that the gas will expand to fill the whole volume of the vacuum chamber.
It took some people in the Gas Chamber 15-20 minutes to die.
