George Eastman marketed the first roll of flexible photographic film, Eastman Negative Paper, in 1884 which was a coating on a paper base. It was called "stripping film" because the paper backing had to be stripped off during processing. Eastman American Film was introduced in 1885, the first transparent photographic film, "celluloid film" or "nitrate film". Reverend Hannibal Goodwin invented a roll film with a transparent backing that was more flexible and the Eastman company acquired this film in 1889.
In 1881 a farmer in Cambria, Wisconsin, Peter Houston, invented the first roll film camera. His younger brother David, filed the patents for various components of Peter's camera.
George Eastman used the flexible roll film holder which was patented by David H. Houston in 1881 in the Kodak camera. Houston licensed the roll film holder, and later sold the patent, to George Eastman in 1889. Houston continued to invent and patent additional camera parts.
The first camera to use transparent flexible film, the Kodak camera, was placed on the market by the Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company in 1888.
Movie cameras have come a long way since their invention, and modern cameras use very different technology than their predecessors. One of the first film cameras was created in 1888 by Louis Le Prince.
The first commercial transparent roll film was put out on the market in 1889. This was made possible by the development of Thomas Edison's motion picture camera which was invented in 1891.
Probably the American George Eastman who invented, in 1879, an emulsion coating machine that enabled the mass production of what were then called photographic dry plates.

George Eastman
George Eastman Kodak invented roll film and a camera that used it in 1888. Before that, only single shot cameras existed, mostly using glass plates that were difficult to use. As I recall, the camera contained enought film for 100 exposures and had to be mailed away to have the film removed, processed and prints made. Kodak returned the camera re-loaded.

it is when you use 35 mm film it auto winds the film before pulling it out of the camera
Roll film was invented by Peter Houston, a Wisconsin farmer, in 1881 and his brother invented and patented the roll container. A license was issued to George Eastman who designed his Kodak cameras to use the film.

The first box camera was produced and sold in 1888 by the KODAK company. This box camera was the first to be widely used by the public and also the first to use roll film.

You can not convert a RollieCord TRL camera to use 35mm film instead of 120 film. This camera was designed to only work with 120mm film while shooting. However, there are models of RollieCord TRLs that do only take 35mm film too.
