OLD-School

That would greatly depend on how you define school. Even the Old Testament book of Daniel references it, and the problems parents had with private versus public education.

Our modern public schools got their start in Prussia, in the early 19th century by King Frederick William III.

In America, John Dewey is regarded as the father of public schools, and his ideas were created in the early 20th century.

One on one education, like the "school" of "Come with me and see how we hunt", has no doubt existed since the dawn of time.
