Who is Deepak Chetty?

Deepak Chetty (born on June 26th, 1985) in Tulsa, Oklahoma is an award winning filmmaker known more recently for his films "Quanta in The Sky With Diamonds", "The Curse Of Dracula Island" a 1930's adventure film homage, and "The Son Also Rises" his first film to be shot on location in Kerala, India. Chetty graduated with a BFA in film production from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY where he earned both the Steve and Linda Horn Award for Excellence in Media Arts as well as the coveted Princess Grace Award Nomination.

During his childhood his aspiration was to be a paleontologist but at age seven after a viewing of Spielberg's prehistoric re-animations in 93's "Jurassic Park" he decided that he would rather be involved in a field that could bring dinosaurs back to life rather than dig them up. Since then he has cultivated a rich array of work ranging from stop motion to live action in both film and video.

He currently makes his home in New York, where he is hard at work writing and preparing new narrative film and video projects for production.
