Josefa Llanes Escoda was an activist of women's rights from The Philippines. She was also the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines. She studied to became a teacher and also was a social worker of the American Red Cross. During all her life she was an advocate for women's rights. During World War II, she was captured and imprisoned by Japanese invaders and, presumably, she was executed afterwards.
