As far as I am aware Lucifer was Lucifer at the beginning but he does have a lot of aliases such as Beelzebub,Satan,The Devil,Old Nick,Legion, and many others

The best-known fallen angel is Lucifer, a name frequently attributed to Satan in Christian belief. This usage stems from a particular interpretation of Isaiah 14:3-20 that speaks of someone who is given the name of "Day Star" or "Morning Star" (in Latin, Lucifer) as fallen from heaven. The word Lucifer, however, does not refer to Satan anywhere in The Bible. Some see the passage as using this name to describe the king of Babylon, who had exalted himself as being deity himself, after which God would cast him down.

So his original name was actually Day Star or Morning Star he was the smartest angel god ever created and he was supposed to be the direct guardian to gods throne. Only second to god, of-course god foreseen Lucifer turning on him hence the name day star (or falling star) referring to god casting him out of heaven. When they referred to stars before Adam and Eve they are not talking about our celestial stars but angels. The devil tempted eve with the promise to be more god like because in term its what he him self was seeking.

AnswerIn the time of the Babylonian Exile, Lucifer was a sarcastic name that Second Isaiah gave to the deposed king of Babylon. Isaiah chapter 14 talks of the pomp and splendour of the king of Babylon, who had ruled the nations in anger, and his fate after his overthrow by the king of Persia. He had compared himself to the morning star (Lucifer, from Latin) and had thought that he would ascend into heaven and sit among the stars, but was now himself persecuted. He has become weak and like one of us; he will go to hell.

This passage was misunderstood by Christian translators, resulting in the widespread Christian view that Lucifer and Satan are one. This change probably took place late in the first century CE.
