In "Julius Caesar, Cassius believes he sent Titinus to his death and that Brutus' army has gone down in defeat. He commands his servant to kill him. In actuality, Titinus had met with Brutus's army and that army had not gone down to defeat. Therefore, his death was in vain.
Brutus persuades himself that Caesar must be killed in the sense that the country doesn't want huim in power. Cassius plants forged letters from the people in brutus' servant chambers so that his servant will show brutus letters from the people that say that they believe Caesar is a tyrant! Brutus doesn't want to kill his best friend, but he does want to serve his country in the best way that he can. =Þ
Cassius does not respond to the death of Brutus as Cassius dies before Brutus does. Brutus responds to Cassius' death with tender words.
Brutus because Antony is very power hungry and Brutus wants the best for Rome.
