They assume responsibility for a case once it has moved through the trial phase to determine whether the decision of the trial judge or jury conforms to existing law and legal precedent.

∙ 11y agoAppellate attorneys have many different jobs. One major job that an appellate attorney has is to spot legal issues that were never brought about in a lower court. They can bring these legal issues up on appeal and possible get a new trial.
