Who is the Prime Minister of Australia?

Answer:
The Prime Minister of Australia in 2011 is Julia Gillard of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). She was sworn into office on 21 August 2010 after no majority government was formed. In a controversial move, independents Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott sided with the Labor party.

On 24 June 2010, a leadership challenge within the Australian Labor Party resulted in Deputy Prime Minister under former Prime Minister Kevin Michael Rudd, Julia Eileen Gillard, gaining the position of Leader of the Australian Labor Party, which automatically resulted in her being sworn in as the 27th Prime Minister of Australia.
