You probably mean Cyrus, who is an Alpaca. He sleeps until a few town conditions are met, and from then on you can give him things to turn into others. For example he can use a Ruby Ore to change certain items into Red ones. He can turn three Gold Ore into a random Gold series item, there are other things he can do also.
