The leader of Big Bang is G-Dragon / GD (Kwon Jiyong).
Most South Korea idol group are led by the oldest member. Even though GD isn't the oldest (he's 2nd oldest), he was the longest trainee between all of Big Bang's member, along with his other member Taeyang (Youngbae).
Between the two of them, their CEO deemed GD was better suited to become Big Bang's leader because he has the best leadership and sense of responsibility. Also, GD is kind of perfectionist so he often motivate his members to become better each time.
