Impressionism.
Pizarro was considered to be the father of Impressionism. Impressionism is a type of Art form in which the Artist examined the effects of light and shadow on a surface area without worrying about the realism of the object they were painting. Two types of Impressionism were present, that being the effects of light on flesh and the effects of light on natural surfaces. These two types can be named Figurative Impressionism and Landscape Impressionism. Impressionism was considered to be a lazy form of Art and was rejected during the Romantic and Byzantine periods, but due to Japan taking in interest in such Artwork, modern day society has classed Impressionism as one of the most influencial Art forms of its time.
The most well known of the 19th century art movement known as Impressionism were: Claude Monet Pierre-Auguste Renoir Edouard Manet Camille Pissarro Paul Cezanne

Like Manet, Monet, Renoir etc were in search of new forms of art in order to escape from the rigid kind of art that was deeply rooted in the mind of the artist, later as the impressionism was developed, it was one of the most influential currents and which led to much controversy and artists continue to seek new ways to express. This was the moment in which they began to experiment with new tools like the visual arts as well as in architecture. We can not say that the popularity of Impressionism ended because it taught to artist & ordinary people that paintings painted in plain air where far more amazing and colorful than the ones painted in artist studios. Impressionism simply paved the way to the modern art.
Post-impressionism took place in France. It is a term that was coined by a British artist and art critic Roger Fry, and used to describe the development of French art since Manet.
