There is no particular saint assigned as the patron saint of patience. So, while there in no official patron, you can choose your own personal saint. Most saints exhibited some form of patience. However, one in particular is St. Monica, the mother of St. Augustine. Now Augustine was quite a rebellious teenager and it took him years to grow out of this life style. He pretty much rejected the Catholic faith of Monica and at the age of 15 moved in with a woman who was not his wife. He father a child by her and lived with her for over 15 years. His motto at the time was "Lord give me chastity and temperance but not just now."

All those years Monica prayed constantly for his conversion, she never lost hope or patience. Eventually, Augustine did convert to Christianity and became one of the greatest theologians in the history of the Church.

Monica's husband was also in her constant prayers. He was a pagan, abusive to her and unfaithful. Her prayers also brought him to Christianity.
