Kim Il-Sung is the 'Eternal President' of North Korea. He first became President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on December 28, 1972, and was made Eternal President on July 8, 1994 after his death.

His son Kim Jong-Il became the 'Supreme Leader' of North Korea after his death. On December 17, 2011, Kim Jong-il died and was succeeded by his son, Kim Jong-Un, who became the new 'Supreme Leader' (and remains so as of 2014). Jong-un currently acts as dictator and leader of the country.
