Jesus Christ is the Promised One. You can learn about his life in the New Testament of the Bible.Though he was present and prophesied about throughout the Old Testament. He is known as the Promised One because the Israelites, or the Jewish nation, were in captivity/slavery for the majority of their history. They prayed and waited for a deliverer to come and they believed the Messiah, or the one God promised he would send to free them, was coming soon. Jesus is the one God promised he would send, not only to save the Jews but all of mankind. Though Jesus was not what the Jewish people expected him to be, he came some 2000 years ago just as promised and made away for all men to be saved.
Expected means anticipated. The expected messiah is the one promised in the Old Testament.
