Answer
Many people in the United States think Oprah is the richest black person but you're wrong.
There are many more black billionaires not on Forbes list because they refuse to list their worth like the oil king in Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
The fact is that Mohammad Al Amoudi, born in Ethiopia, Africa, who now lives in Saudi Arabia is the world's richest black person according to Forbes.com 2007 with a net worth of $8 billion. Google his name to see a picture and the facts or go to Forbes.
Many people think Oprah because she is on TV but she's not the richest. She just became a billionaire 3-4 years ago. She is the first black woman billionaire, but Robert (Bob) Johnson was the first black man and black person billionaire years before Oprah when he started BET (Black Entertainment Televison) in 1979. He became a billionaire in early 90's and in 2000-01. He sold BET for $3 billion. His wife divorced him so he went down to $2 billion. He bought over 600 hotels and motels across the United States for $1 billion and he was left with a billion. He fell off Forbes list and people thought Oprah was first but Robert Johnson came back on Forbes list in 2007 with a net worth of $1 billion. He stands to make an estimated $2.4 billion from his hotels and motels in 2008 which will put him at $3.4 billion, back where he was before the divorce.
