Archimedes - he was a Greek mathematician and inventor from Syracuse in the third century BCE.

Legend says that he was asked by a king to figure out a way to ensure that his crown was all real gold.

As he was in his bath he realised that when something is floating in water it displaces water equal to the weight of the object, ad when something sinks in water it displaces water equal to its volume.

He was so excited, the legend says, that he jumped out of the bath and ran to tell the king, shouting "Eureka" - which is Greek for "I've found it" (meaning "I had found the answer to the king's question").

no this isn't true ran did.

What type of instrument would you use to find the volume of a solid?

A displacement can is used to measure the volume of a solid object. A displacement can is a bucket with a spout in the side, near the top. First the bucket is filled until it just overflows the spout. Then something is put under the spout to collect water that comes out. As you submerge the object in the bucket, water will pour out of the spout. The volume of of water that overflowed into the collecting container is measured. The volume of overflow water equals the volume of the solid that was placed in the water. Legend has it that the ancient Greek scholar Archimedes was tasked by the king to measure the volume of gold that had been stolen from him by a crown-maker. While puzzling over the problem, he was taking a bath and noticed the water rise in the tub and realized it was equal to the submerged volume of his body. He leaped from the tub and ran naked down the street shouting eureka, eureka (means I have found it in Greek)

Who discovered how to determine buoyant force?

Nobody invented it; it's a property of our world, and of our universe. However, the Greek scientist/philosopher Aristotle is credited for being the first to investigate the phenomenon. In an apocryphal tale (the historical equivalent of an urban legend) while pondering how to tell whether a crown was made from gold or some other less-precious metal, he noticed that his body displaced an equal amount of water out of the bathtub. The discovery so moved him that he ran naked through the streets, shouting, "Eureka! Eureka!"

What causes object of the same volume to sink rather than float?

Its density. An object which is less dense than water will float. An object more dense than water will sink. This puzzled the Classical Greek scientist, Archimedes, until one day he got in the bath and the water flowed over the edge. He ran down the street shouting ' Eureka!!!! I have found it!!!!'. Today we have the Archimedean definition of floatation. 'The mass/weight of a body immersed in a fluid is equal to the weight/mass of the fluid displaced'. So if you suspend a 3 kg house brick in water , it will only weigh about 2kg. Difference in weight is the mass of the water displaced.

Which scientist first said the scientific term eureka?

"Eureka" is not really a scientific term - it is Greek for "I've found it".This is reputed to have been said by Archimedes (c. 287 BC - c. 212 BC) who was mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor, and astronomer, when he suddenly realised the way to tackle a problem which had been posed to him - how to tell if a golden crown was pure gold, or had it been tampered with and cheaper metals used.

How Archimedes discovered the density?

Archimedes discovered density by sitting in a bath full of water, and realized the water that spilled out was how much space he took up in the bath. How many liters that spilled out was how many liters Archimedes took up in the world. As legend has it, when he found this out he ran into the street - naked - shouting "Eureka!" which means, in Greek, "I've found it!" He was shouting "Eureka" because the king asked him to find out if his crown was all gold or did the goldsmith take some gold and used silver instead.
