The truth is, MJ is the King and Britney is the Queen.

Ever since 1999 all the way to 2009 Britney alone had been the best selling female artist of the entire decade, becoming the first and only female artist to have six of her albums debut at no1 and go platinum, and have all of her albums debut at either no1 or no2 in the Billboard Hot 200 Chart. Her 5th studio album Blackout is the only album that didn't debut at no1 due to her public and highly publicised breakdown along with her lack of promo. The album debuted at no2 instead making it the first time for Britney Spears to not have a no1 debut. Two of her albums are also in the best selling albums of all time chart. Britney is also the youngest female artist to ever receive a star on the walk of fame. Throughout the thousands Britney became the ultimate pop threat with not only sales, but also with performance art and video concepts. Her MTV VMA performances are her most controversial and iconic that raised the bar and standard for other performers to meet. MTV & TCA once stated that Britney helped shaped their award ceremonies into what they are today.

In 2009 Britney made one of the most successful and biggest comebacks of all Pop history by a female artist, which soon lead her to now be a role model and inspiration to troubled individuals and victims due to her public breakdown and rise to the top again.

In 2011 MTV credited her as the "Origin of Pop" and also awarded her with a lifetime achievement award along with a tribute to her most iconic looks, performances, songs and videos.

No one as of yet has been properly recognised, nor credited as the King of Pop since Michael Jackson. Reasons and opinions why by many individuals is that no male artist seems to deliver a high quality of originality, creativity and artistry. The common male artist of present day delivers either impressive dance moves, lyrics or very sexual music videos with female models. MJ was an artist that was able to deliver all of those things and more. He wrote impressive, inspirational and very memorable lyrics still to this day, performed slick, unique and iconic dance moves, videos and performances that entertained like no other male artist during his time. We have yet to witness a male artist as impressive as MJ.
