The song in the commercial is a production exclusively made for Dell. There is no "artist". The song isn't available in any longer version than the one you can hear in the commercial.

The original song "Lollipop" was written by Julius Dixson and Beverly Ross for the duo "Ronald & Ruby", recorded 1957, released 1958, reaching #20 in the charts; but as the people learned that "Ronald & Ruby" were an interracial duo (as were the songwriters Dixson and Ross), television appearances that had been previously booked were cancelled and interest in the song subsided.

In the same year "The Chordettes" released this song reaching #2 on the Billboard Pop and #3 on the Billboard R&B charts int he US and #6 in the UK.

The band "The Mudlarks" covered the song in the UK 1958, toping The Chordettes with making it to #2 in the UK charts.

The Argentinian band "Viuda e Hijas de Roque Enroll" had a hit with a cover version of the song, with entirely new lyrics in Spanish, in the mid 1980s.

Squeak E. Clean & Desert Eagles covered and remixed the song for the 2009 film "Whip It".
